WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH YOU FOR OVER

60 years

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1961, VIMAJAS initially focused on civil construction and public works, first under the name of the founding partner Vítor Santos, and from 1974 onwards, under the name "Vimajas", reflecting the evolution of the founding partner's paving activities.

It was also in that year that the company registered with IMOPPI, now IMPIC, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of infrastructure in Portugal.

VIMAJAS progressed from project to project, but in 2007, we began to embrace the Recycling of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW), driven by the need to ensure the proper disposal of waste produced by our projects and the desire to create a more sustainable future. We inaugurated the Sorting and Recycling Center in 2009.

Since the end of 2017, Recycling has become our main activity, and we are currently an authorized Waste Management Operator located in Pêro Pinheiro (Sintra), driven by rigor and quality. We promote the efficient management of CDW and produce high-quality Recycled Aggregates.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Adopting sustainable practices in CDW management is a crucial step towards a more sustainable and balanced future!

Yes, VIMAJAS is a Waste Management Operator with an Environmental Single Title.

To unload CDW at our facilities, all loads must always be accompanied by an e-GAR.

No, it is not necessary. However, you should contact us so we can ensure our availability to receive them.

An e-GAR is an electronic waste tracking guide, and it is necessary to be registered in SILiAmb to issue it.

The inoperability is communicated by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) on its website, and only under the conditions defined by that entity can we receive your CDW.

No, only with the e-GAR can you unload your CDW at our facilities.

Yes, whether the unloading is done by companies or individuals, an e-GAR is always required.

You can clarify your doubts on the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) website and on the SILiAmb website (under "1. SILIAMB" and "2. RESÍDUOS").

You can only unload the CDWs that we are authorized to receive and that are listed in our Environmental Single Title. Find out here which CDWs you can unload at VIMAJAS. However, you should contact us to ensure our availability to receive them.

When we talk about "clean rubble" we are referring to concrete, asphalt, brick, tiles, ceramic materials, among others, mixed or not. However, it cannot contain plastic, wood, glass, paper/cardboard, and others.

It is a mixture of CDWs containing plastic, wood, glass, paper/cardboard, and others.

"Dirty rubble" is more expensive than "clean" because it requires more complete and time-consuming sorting, involving mechanical and human means, to ensure its proper routing.

We can only collect the CDWs that we are authorized to receive and that are listed in our Environmental Single Title. Find out here which CDWs we can collect and route to our facilities.

Yes, the collection of our containers is always accompanied by an e-GAR. We emphasize that the Waste Producer must be registered on the SILiAmb platform.

Regarding the CDW Reception Certificate, a copy of the electronic waste tracking guide (e-GAR), duly filled out, corrected by us (as a Waste Management Operator), accepted by the Producer, and in the completed state, serves as a certificate.

At the initial stage of the construction, the City Council is probably asking you to submit a commitment declaration for the reception of the CDWs you will produce at your construction site, issued by an entity authorized to receive them. In that case, you can contact us for more information.

At the final stage of the construction, the competent authorities may be asking you to submit proof that you have indeed delivered the CDWs to a Waste Management Operator. In that case, you need the e-GAR in the completed state (see question no. 16).

No, VIMAJAS is a Waste Management Operator with a Sorting and Recycling Center. This means that we sort and recycle CDWs and also produce recycled aggregates.

Yes, VIMAJAS has a construction license.

You should contact us for more information.
